The Michelin Starcross range is available to purchase through Enduro Tyres, we stock the latest Starcross 5 range, view the tyres here.
We started stocking this range as an addition to the other Michelin tyres that we offer, we have a good amount of Starcross Junior tyres also available which start from just £20. Below is a brief Q&A review of the whole range, if you are looking to purchase and need more information, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01980 65 55 55.
Are they suitable for Moto X Terrain
The Michelin Starcross 5 range comes in a variety of sizes and patterns; sand being the softest, then soft, medium and hard. This means that these tyres will be suitable for every condition if chosen correctly. Each version is designed to give high performance making them a perfect choice for all conditions.
How does the Starcross 5 tyre range compare to the new Enduro 2018 range?
The new Enduro mediums do share some technology from the Starcross 5, and MX riders have grown to like the more stable, taller 90/100/21 front tyre size that enduro riders have been enjoying with Comp Medium. However, in reality the two tyres are completely different in tread patterns, the Enduro tyre has much lower tread depth to work better in forest type conditions and comply with FIM regulations, making it road legal.
Would Michelin Starcross 5 be suitable for non FIM / road legal enduro ?
Yes indeed, we have several customers who swear by the 120/80/18 Soft, with a well bedded in M14 Bib Mousse and they work particularly well in Hare and Hounds multi lap events.
What does the Starcross 5 tyre range do best?
It’s the ultimate MX tyre, with the option of bespoke Bib Mousse fitment.
Is there any negatives to this tyre?
With so many specific tyres, you need to make sure you have the correct tyre for the event. A full sand scoop tyre, left on for the next weekend on a hardpack track would be horrendous for example, so make sure you and your mechanic select the correct pattern.
