SALVINI GOES GREEN IN KENYA
Top marks to Alex Salvini who was recently chosen to represent the FIM as their Environmental Ambassador in their Ride Green programme at the United Nations Environment Assembly in Kenya.
Salvini flew out to Africa last week to take part in a major conference that featured more than 160 UN member and observer states from all across the world.
“It was a great satisfaction for me to participate in a high-level meeting at the UN, and to be FIM spokesperson for Ride Green,” told Salvo.
“Being an Environmental Ambassador is a new challenge. In off-road sport we live closer to the environmental impacts and it’s important to continue to practice our sport in the respect of the environment.
“I’m proud to be part of the FIM Ride Green Program and to promote this campaign also through the participations to this events”.
UNEA is a newly constituted United Nations high-level platform for decision-making on the environment that is tasked with charting a new course for the way the international community addresses environmental sustainability challenges.
For the FIM, this was an important opportunity to share the FIM Ride Green platform and all the Federation’s environmental sustainability programmes in a major international forum beyond the sports community.
