Laia Sanz’ performances during this year’s Dakar Rally continue to show she’s one of the very best. Without question one of the world’s toughest female athletes.
In an event that separates the men from the boys, if you’ll excuse the pun, Sanz has so far consistently led the majority of her male counterparts home, stage after stage.
In the world’s toughest motorsport race Sanz piloted her factory HRC Honda 450 Rally to an incredible fifth place finish on stage eight. With conditions grinding many of the sport’s elite riders to a halt Sanz keeps on delivering, sitting inside the top ten of the overall motorcycle classification as the event heads towards its close.
Enduro21.com’s sister title Enduro illustrated (above) caught up with Sanz prior to the start of this year’s rally, to ask the off-road super woman exactly what it is that drives her to success, why she walked away from trials and her goals for Dakar 2015…
