CAN SALVINI PUT THE BRAKES ON MEO?
As the Italian Enduro Championship heads to Spoleto this weekend for round three, the question on everyone’s lips is whether or not Alex Salvini can bring Antoine Meo’s win streak to an end.
On fire in this year’s Italian Enduro Championship, Meo has been impressive by winning both rounds of the series to date.
Hitting the ground running in his return to competitive action following his 2014 wrist injury, Meo has been the rider to beat.
Leading the way at the sandy opener in Lignano, the Frenchman then secured a dominant victory in the mud at Elba two weeks ago.
With a perfect points haul gathered, Meo will be keen to keep his win streak alive before the series takes a lengthy break until late June.
Tied on points with Matt Phillips for second, Alex Salvini knows he’s got to put the brakes on Meo’s momentum this weekend.
As the defending champion, the Italian can’t afford to let his French rival edge further away.
And with the opening round of the Enduro World Championship looming ever closer, a win in Spoleto will come at just the right time for the Honda rider’s mojo.
The third round of the Italian Enduro Championship takes place in Spoleto on March 21/22.
