60-Second Update – EEC Round 2 Day 2, Romania
Tom Sagar dominates round two of the European Enduro Championship in Bacau, Romania with a double victory.
After leading the way on day one in Romania, Sagar again proved to be the rider to beat on day two. Favouring the special tests, Sagar swept the outright classification while also topping the Enduro 2 category.
“This weekend the tests have suited me,” told Sagar. “It was my kind of going!”
Ensuring a British 1-2 on day two, Husqvarna’s Jamie Lewis chased Sagar home for the runner-up result and second in E2.
The reigning champion Maurizio Micheluz finished third behind the two Brits but was able to defend the leadership in the championship.
“At this weekend it was most important to keep the distance to the British boys as small as possible,” commented the Italian who is already looking revenge at the next round of the series in Italy.
With Micheluz topping the Enduro 1 class it was Jack Rowland and Jonathan Rosse who completed the top three.
The Enduro 3 catergory proved a close fight. Going right down to the final special test it was Italy’s Jacopo Cerutti who edged out Marco Neubert for the win.
Four victories in a row took Werner Müller at the Veterans and Audrey Rossat at the women-class.
