2013 A Record Year For KTM
KTM continues to grow as it recently announced that the 2013 financial year was it’s best yet.
In terms of sales, revenue and a growth in employees, 2013 was a record year for the Austrian firm.
Sales grew by 15.6% as the company continued to expand in growth market Asia and South America. With 123,859 motorcycles sold worldwide in the business year 2013, KTM remain the fastest growing motorcycle brand in the world for the past three years.
Growth in sales saw revenue increase in the same period by 17.1% to €716.4m.
Despite a still declining motorcycle market, especially in Europe, this increase in sales results in a strong gain of market shares. Therefore, KTM achieved a market share of 8.5% of the total European market.
Futher news is that KTM’s success has translated into a growth in employment. The number of people employed by the KTM group worldwide grew by 147 to a staggering 1,849. Currently, 75 apprentices are employed at KTM.
With KTM continuing to push forward with their global product strategy, the target is to further increase revenue and sales for the business year 2014.
